Galway and Connemara and The Cliffs of Moher

The Wild Atlantic Way covers the entire Atlantic seaboard from Donegal all the way to Cork. Visitors could spend months entiring the entire coastline or pick segments to explore, thereby whetting the appetitie to comeback and see more.

Below is a sample itinerary taking in Connemara, Galway City and the Cliffs of Moher. This trip has a bit of everything from spectacular scenery to pilgrimmages, to fly fishing and hollywood tours. All this along side the World Famour West of Ireland welcome with incedible food, pubs, music and craic.  What are you waiting for?

Day 1

Arrival Day - Ashford 

Arrive in Dublin or Shannon Airport airport and be greeted by a Lyons Links Guide. Transfer to Ashford Castle is approximately 3 hours from Dublin our 1 hour and 40 minutes from Shannon.  On arrical at Cong, check in to the 4* Lodge or the main hotel (5*) at Ashford Castle. Enjoy Falconry at Ashford Castle or take the Quiet Man Tour on day of arrival. Enjoy a good nights sleep in luxury, in preparation for a superb week.

Day 2

The Lost Valley

After breakfast, take in some of the rugged and spectacular Connemara scenery on route to the "Lost Valley". With its pristine, unspoiled and widely diverse landscape and seascape untouched by the modern world, The Lost Valley offers a unique window into the cultural heritage of The West of Ireland. Another option would be to visit Delphi Activity Center. Return to Ashford after an exhillerating day

Day 3

Croagh Patrick

Croagh Patrick, also known as "The Reek," is a prominent 764-meter mountain near Westport, County Mayo, Ireland. It is a revered pilgrimage site associated with Saint Patrick. Pilgrims flock to ascend its challenging slopes annually on the last Sunday in July. The mountain offers breathtaking views of Clew Bay, making it a significant cultural and spiritual landmark in Ireland

Day 4

Ballynahinch Castle.

Check out of Ashford Castle and enjoy some more spectacular sightseeing on route to Ballynahinch Castle in South Connemara. Along the way stop and visit and Kylemore Abbey. Originally built as a private residence in the 19th century, it became an abbey for Benedictine nuns fleeing World War I. The Abbey boasts stunning  architecture and is set against the serene Pollacappul Lake. 

Day 5

Fly Fishing Tutorial

For guests interested in learning how to fly fish, or who are looking for a novel way to spend a morning, why not partake in a half or a full day’s fly fishing at the hotel with one of our experienced tutors? Whilst you may not become an expert fly fisherman in a morning, the tutorial intends to give the participants a good insight into the basics of fly fishing. Take an opportunity to visit the wonderful village of Roundstone in the evening

Day 6

Galway City

Transfer to Galway and check into a city center hotel. Galway is a harbour city and quite simply is a "must visit". Eyre Square is the city’s hub while nearby, stone-clad cafes and craft shops line the winding lanes of the Latin Quarter. The city comes alive in the evening with street performers and live music in some of the best pubs you will find anywhere. There are all some exceptional restaurants to choose from.

Day 7

Cliffs of Moher

The Cliffs of Moher, situated on the western coast of Ireland in County Clare, are a breathtaking natural wonder and a major tourist attraction. Soaring to heights of up to 214 meters (702 feet) above the Atlantic Ocean, these rugged cliffs provide awe-inspiring views of the dramatic coastline. The cliffs extend for about 8 kilometers (5 miles) and are home to diverse bird species. After viewing the cliffs return to Galway for one last night

Day 8

Departure Day

Enjoy a cooked or continental breakfast at your hotel before transferring to your airport of choice. Departing from Dublin airport is particularly convenient for our North American clients as guests can "pre-clear" customs in both these airports, thereby ensuring ease of passage when you touch down home.  We are pretty sure you will bring home memories that will stay with you forever!
